Great time at the Kodak Theatre!

Last night I had 3rd row seats at the Kodak Theatre for the 60th Anniversary celebration of Israel. How on earth did I end up there, you ask? Well it just so happens that my mother's boyfriend's son, Rami Kleinstein, is one of the most famous pop-stars in Israel. I didn't realize how famous until I saw him perform! Wow! He had the whole theatre on its feet and dancing and he was running through the audience while he sang. He put on an incredible performance.

Rami was the final, and certainly the blowout act of the night. Prior to his act we got to see several more acts, all the most well known performers in Israel. It was really interesting for me and my friend Angela, because we of course don't know anything about Israeli music, and while the rest of the audience was going crazy for these clearly famous bands, we had never heard of them! So it was a great cultural experience for us to be so exposed to Israeli's top notch performers. There were some really excellent musicians, and even though we couldn't understand most of the words, we walked away wanting to get some of their CDs.

Another highlight of the night was at the very beginning... when Kirk Douglas walked onto the stage to speak. I was absolutely awestruck by seeing him. He is absolutely incredible to be up there speaking, at age 91 and after a severe stroke. It was so awesome to see him, up close from the 3rd row,  and it was a moment I will always cherish.
